ACESS, the Alliance for Children’s Entitlement to Social Security, will be hosting a series of training workshops in September on:- (1) Enabling documents (birth certificates, identity documents, death certificates, marriage certificates and refugee documents) (2) How to access grants without enabling documents on the following dates in the following cities: 1. 1st and 2nd September 2009 - *Cape Town 2. 8 and 9 September 2009 - *East London 3. 15 and 16 September 2009 - *Johannesburg 4. 22 and 23 September 2009 - *Durban * Specific venue locations will be confirmed closer to the time once we have received your registration form The workshop will cover: 1. The latest legal developments with regards to these topics and provide a useful and practical guide on how to navigate the application procedures for the documents. 2. How to workshop and/or disseminate the information further at a community level. As such, the workshop will be valuable for: 1. Community based organisations; 2. Paralegal offices 3. Training organisations 4. Advocacy organisations 5. Social workers 6. Project managers 7. Service providers (including those responsible for providing the enabling documents and grant services) 8. Anyone working to assist others to access their various socio-economic rights Please be aware that a minimum of 20 people per workshop is required – if this number is not reached, the workshops may be cancelled. Cost of the workshop: The cost of the workshop is R1 500.00 per delegate. This covers training materials and refreshments.
