CATHCA Global Fund Project Manager position Print E-mail
CATHCA seeks to employ a project manager for its Global Fund programme, to be based at CATHCA’s office in Melrose, Johannesburg. The position requires the incumbent to travel frequently. He/she will be responsible for planning, organising, implementation, reporting, monitoring and evaluation of projects funded under the programme.
 
Length of contract: 13 months (renewable)

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and co-ordinate all aspects of the CATHCA Global Fund programme
  • Plan, organise, implement, monitor, evaluate and report in line with CATHCA and Global Fund requirements
  • Conduct regular visits to projects and ensure continuous communication with all stakeholders
  • Collect and analyse data from projects and provide regular feedback to the CATHCA Board of Management and the Global Fund
  • Work closely with other staff members to ensure that all activities are carried out in line with approved plan and budget
Requirements:
  • Project management and/or health related degree.
Experience
  • At least 5 years work experience in the health sector
  • Experience in HIV or health programme management
  • Understanding of HIV prevention, care, treatment and support strategies in South Africa in line with the National Strategic Plan.
  • Experience in working with Department of Health and other local partners
  • Previous experience of working for an NGO
  • Previous experience of managing large budgets
Skills
  • Proven project management skills, including planning and report writing skills
  • Strong coordination, organisation, planning, and report writing skills
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to respond positively to feedback
  • Good interpersonal, communication skills
  • Ability to deal with different people from different backgrounds
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and make decisions when appropriate
  • Proven monitoring and evaluation skills
  • Computer literacy, good knowledge of MS Office software package
  • Valid drivers licence and own car
Languages
  • Fluency in spoken and written English, isiZulu and/or seSotho
  • Working knowledge of other official languages is an added advantage
