The draft Bill envisages to:

(b) control the registration of social workers, student social workers, social auxiliary workers and persons practicing other professions in respect of which professional boards have been established; and

(c) deal with other related matters.

We are going to have to live with this legislation for a long time, so let us make sure it goes through in the best possible form. Of special concern at present is the fact that the Council stands to be entirely appointed by the Minister. The fact that a number of members will be elected members of Professional Boards does not do away with the potential hazards of such a situation. This matter is urgent as comment is due by 25 February 2008.  This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
