Struggle for equality: Sexual orientation, gender identity and human rights in Africa

The Heinrich Böll Stiftung (HBS) and the Commission for Gender Equality (CGE) invite you for this important occasion.

The conference will seek to analyse the challenges faced by the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) communities in Africa. It will also provide a platform for the discussion of strategies aimed at creating an environment on the continent where sexual minorities can enjoy the full range of human rights and are recognised as full citizens. The conference will facilitate dialogue between representatives from politics, academia, civil society, and the broader public on these important issues.

The conference is divided into a public opening on the 15th of November and an expert seminar on the following day (limited seats).
