Grassroot Soccer: Program Manager Vacancy Print E-mail

Using the power of soccer in the fight against AIDS, Grassroot Soccer provides African youth with the knowledge, skills and support to live HIV free.

GRS invites applications form suitable qualified candidates for the position of

Program Manager, to be based in Lusaka, Zambia. This position will be report to the International Programs Manager based in Cape Town.

The Zambia Program Manager will be responsible for:

    * Overseeing Grassroot Soccer¹s field programs throughout the country
    * Overseeing in-country staff (approximately 5 local Program
      Assistants, 3 American Field Interns and more than 125 Volunteer
      Coaches)
    * Understanding and managing contractual obligations, and ensuring
      deliverables are met
    * Budgetary and financial management for all programs
    * Managing community-relations activities on behalf of Grassroot
      Soccer Zambia
    * Working with GRS¹s Business Development team to secure future funding

Requirements:

    * At least 3-5 years working experience for developmental
      organizations, preferably in HIV prevention
    * University degree strongly encouraged, advance degree not necessary
    * Excellent interpersonal and teambuilding skills
    * Proven ability to work with drive and enthusiasm and to function
      in a team-oriented environment
    * Ability to interact professionally with diverse groups
    * Excellent organisational, oral, and written communication skills
    * Ability to work comfortably in a fluid environment with multiple
      projects and deadlines
    * Understanding of public health issues and international experience
      desirable but not essential
    * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software
