The Wits Writing Centre, Botsotso Publishing, Goethe Institute, Exclusive Books and Sounds of Edutainment invite you to the much anticipated Jozi Spoken Word Festival 2008 from Wednesday, 13 – Saturday,16 August 2008 at the Wits Theatre and Wits Writing Centre.

This festival, initiated in 2007, is an annual arts event, showcasing contemporary South African and international artists involved in the performance of poetry, fiction and dramatic monologue, including storytelling and comedy. More than 60 writers, emerging and established, will participate in the second edition of the Jozi Spoken Word Festival primarily targeting students. The programme consists of live performances, interactive public participation through workshops, symposia, spoken word films, slam jam poetry, and a mentorship and protégé programme.
