ONLY FOR NON-PROFIT ORGANISATIONS, PUBLIC BENEFIT TRUSTS & SECTION-21 COMPANIES & GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS The Distributing Agency for Charities, established in terms of the Lotteries Act (No. 57 of 1997), is once again in the position to consider applications for funding from the proceeds of the National Lottery. In adjudicating the applications received by the advertised deadline, the Distributing Agency will focus on the following areas: a) Social welfare developmental programmes; b) Adult basic education; c) After-school care programmes; and d) Government schools in the Inner City, Informal Areas, Townships and Rural Areas (e.g. classrooms, toilets, fencing, school social work, psychologist, school nurse). Applicants must demonstrate beneficiary community representivity in their staff and management; and board and committees. Applications will be considered from registered charitable organisations and schools that submit all the required documents and information as outlined in the 2009 Guidelines. Registered organisations that are willing to assist independent developing organisations that do not have the required documents may apply by entering into a partnership. Applications from family trusts and organisations with a commercial focus will NOT be considered. NOTE: All applicants MUST comply in all respects with the 2009 Guidelines by submitting all the required documents and in the prescribed formats. DEADLINE: In order to be considered for funding within the scope described above, completed applications together with supporting information, must reach the NLDTF by no later than 16h00 on 11 December 2009.
