The Distributing Agency for Charities, established in terms of the Lotteries Act (No. 57 of 1997), is once again in the position to consider applications for funding from the proceeds of the National Lottery.

In adjudicating the applications received by the advertised deadline, the Distributing Agency will focus on the following areas:
a) Social welfare developmental programmes
b) Basic adult education
c) After-school care programmes

Organisations must demonstrate beneficiary community representivity in their staff/ management and board/ committees.
Applications will be considered from registered charitable organisations that submit all the required documents as outlined in the 2008 guidelines.

Registered organisations that have the required two years’ financial statements wishing to assist independent developing organisations that do not have the required two years’ financial statements and/or are not registered may apply by entering into a partnership.

Applications from organisations with a commercial focus and family trusts will NOT be considered.

NOTE: All organisations wishing to apply must use the gazetted application FORM (05/1) and must strictly comply with the 2008 guidelines.

DEADLINES:
Applications for funding must reach the NLDTF by the closing date of 14 November 2008.

NOTE:

• Late applications will NOT be accepted
• Incomplete applications will NOT be considered
• Applications not on form 05/1 will not be accepted
• Faxed or E-mailed applications will NOT be accepted
• Applicants that have not submitted all the required Progress Reports on any previous NLDTF funding (Charities; Arts, Culture and National Heritage; Sport and Recreation and/or Miscellaneous Purposes sectors) including annual financial statements prepared by an independent accounting officer will NOT be considered.
• Applicants that do not reflect previously received funding from the NLDTF, as a separate line item on the face of the main Income Statement (not in the notes) will not be considered.
