TITLE OF POST: Senior OVC Coordinator

(Permanent Appointment with 3 months probation period)
PERSONALITY PROFILE:
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Analytical ability
- Attention to detail and task focused
- Must be prepared to travel locally and provincially, overnight on occasion
- Ability to work as part of and manage a team
COMPETENCIES AND TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Matric or a high level of education (recognition of prior learning will be accepted)
- A tertiary or post Matric qualification in a related area is desirable
- Must be computer literate (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
- Must have public speaking experience or willing to learn
- Excellent communication in both written and spoken English as well as Xhosa and Afrikaans will be
- an advantage
- Ability to implement community projects
- Ability to manage a team of field workers and network with the community
- Ability to train or a willingness to learn
- Ability to write reports and manage a small budget
- Knowledge of the HIV/AIDS situation within the Southern Africa
- Own drivers licence and car will be an advantage
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To empower and ensure that volunteers and staff at the OLF Cape Town site
- render well structured Kidz Club activities to orphaned and vulnerable children
- To support and mentor a junior coordindator, field workers and volunteers around OVC activities
- Network with and create rapport with key community partners, stakeholders and government
- Ensure that necessary training needs of staff and volunteers at the sites are identified and addressed in order to have functional and productive Kidz Clubs
- Submit monthly, quartly and annual reports
- Meet targets
- Ensure all activities related to working with children are aligned to the NSP
REMUNERATION:
Negotiable - dependant on experience. Employees need to make own arrangements for medical aid and pension contribution
