Professional Conduct Liaison Officer Pretoria Print E-mail

BASIC SALARY :  R161 706.00 p.a  (plus benefits such as Council’s contribution to medical aid, housing and pension).

MAIN PURPOSE OF POST:
To promote and provide support for the effective implementation of policies, operational plans and programmes, standards, and administration of complaints of unprofessional conduct lodged at the SACSSP against social service professionals.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Registration with the SACSSP as a social worker and at least five years proven social work experience in all areas;
Proven exposure to project management; excellent report writing and minute-taking skills; competency in the ethical practice of social service professionals; full computer literacy, meticulous attention to detail.

FUNCTIONS / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implementing the development and review of the Professional Conduct Divisional Operational Plan, budget, and policies in line with the strategic plan of the SACSSP
Management, administration and co-ordination of Professional Conduct disciplinary matters at all levels
Liaison with all relevant stakeholders and role players involved or required in the disciplinary hearing
Liaison with all social service professionals in matters pertaining to professional conduct, including the presentation of workshops on ethical conduct
Implementation of resolutions of the professional boards of the SACSSP
Promotion of acceptable ethical practices amongst all social service professionals

GENERIC KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:
Appropriate legal experience and / or general knowledge of labour law and labour relations would be an advantage;
Proven experience regarding minutes of meetings, disciplinary procedures and inquiries;
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); Proven research skills ;Client orientation and customer focus; Excellent presentation skills; Independent worker; Honesty and integrity.
Supervisory experience, a valid drivers licence, a willingness to travel and able to speak more than two South African languages will also be an advantage.
