The major strategic shift for The Forum is the move to be more representative of Community Based Organisations (CBOs) that are currently delivering services to the poor and marginalised communities that larger organisations cannot reach. Rajesh believes that if we are to make real progress in meeting development goals in South Africa and beyond, we must invest our resources in creating an enabling environment for CBOs to continue their great work. Rajesh recently participated in the InterAction Leadership Programme and spends some of his free time supporting environmental preservation initiatives. |

Rajesh Latchman has worked in a range of South African NGOs since January 1994, gaining experience of social justice (NICRO), disability (EPILEPSY SA) and HIV & AIDS (The AIDS Consortium). The sector specific knowledge has been useful in giving Rajesh a broad sense of the development landscape in South Africa and valuable experience to draw on in his position as Coordinator of The Forum. Leading a membership-based organisation working in a range of sectors across the country has proved to be a challenge for Rajesh and his team as they work to reinvigorate one of the first post apartheid NGOs to be established in South Africa.
