DATABASE FOR “XENOPHOBIC ATTACKS” CRISIS SERVICE PROVIDERS
The Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR) has been mandated by the Task Team that was established by the South African Human Rights Commission, other section 9 organisations and civil society to coordinate the humanitarian and emergency services for the survivors of the recent “xenophobic attacks”. These tasks include shelters, psychosocial support, medical assistance and the humanitarian services. On 22nd May 2008, 40 organisations met to develop a coordination strategy in this respect, and a database and mailing list of current service providers and offers of aid is being compiled to ensure the distribution of support in the areas required.
To this end, we respectfully request the following information as a matter of urgency:
