Inter Press Service (IPS) Africa, http://www.ipsnews.net/africa, provides regular news and analyses on economic, social and development challenges in Africa to more than 400 media outlets across the continent, including print, radio and websites, and also publishes content in Arabic, English, French, Portuguese and Swahili. The Southern Africa Water Wire, www.ipsnews.net/new_focus/saf_water/index.asp, publishes regular content on integrated water resources management in the SADC region, and since its inception in 2007 has produced more than 100 stories on water issues. IPS Africa has support from GTZ Transboundary Water Management in SADC, http://www.gtz.de/en/, for a capacity building initiative that seeks to improve the knowledge of reporters and provide additional skills on reporting water issues. To this end, IPS Africa will be hosting a three-day seminar for journalists during September 29 – October 02, 2009 in Johannesburg, South Africa, entitled “Reporting Integrated Water Resource Management in Southern Africa”. Journalists from SADC countries are invited to submit applications for scholarships to attend the seminar, which includes transport, accommodation and meals.
