GCAP-South Africa and Cinema for Peace are proud to bring you free community screenings of the award winning movie, Themba mostly in smaller towns all over South Africa. Each screening will be followed by an open dialogue session for people to tell their stories of hope and find their own heroes too! So come join us and see the movie that shows the real South Africa and the real heroes of the people from Kroonstad to Upington and many places in between.
Filmed on location against the stunning rural landscapes of the Eastern Cape, Themba tells the story of a local boy who triumphs against adversity and proves that with talent and determination dreams can come true. Themba depicts the triumph of the human spirit and how belief in oneself and ones talent is tantamount to never giving up. Themba goes behind the pin-up posters of soccer stars and shows us what really makes for a hero.
