What is the Forum?
The Forum is a broad based civil society representative organisation serving affiliate member organisations working across the development spectrum in South Africa. We provide support and coordination in the areas of policy engagement & lobbying, human rights advocacy, resource mobilisation and capacity building.
The Forum was formally established in November 1994 and was instrumental in the coordination of civil society inputs into the development of the White Paper for Social Welfare, 1997. The Forum led the process of the establishment of a world-first developmental welfare model for South Africa.
