ST STITHIANS SCHOOL (CLASSROOM TO BE CONFIRMED)
We are a non-profit organisation consisting of a growing group of men in Johannesburg offering sustainable mentorship to teenage boys.
You are invited to an information evening for the newly launched Boys to Men Jozi which will include a 25 min screening of a DVD called Journeyman which tracks the story of two boys who participated on this programme in the US.
Here is some info on the DVD we'd be watching: Take a look. "BEST DOCUMENTARY" awards for the film at two US film festivals. Come even if you're curious, and you can always spread the word to others.
Movie synopsis:
"Journeyman" follows Joe and Mike, two teenage boys from diverse backgrounds who struggle with depression and violence, both of whom are in dire need of support and guidance from adult males. In a mentoring program, they face challenging rites of passage, discover their inner strength, and learn to engage with a community of supportive men.
Movie will be followed by discussion.
We have our own first Rite of Passage Adventure near Pretoria on 12-14 March... and we'd love your son and the teenage boys in your life to join us. Limited space...
If you can't make this event next Friday for some reason, please express your interest as we will host other evenings such as this before our Adventure.
