Research on Youth Work Print E-mail
TITLE OF THE STUDY: YOUTH WORK: A CHALLENGE FOR SOCIAL SERVICE
PROFESSIONALS

The study is intended to explore the challenges faced in recognising Youth Work practice as a profession or an area of specialization within the social service sector in South Africa. The study seeks to describe the challenges facing social service professions by

(i) identifying factors that contributed to the emergence of youth work practice;
(ii) exploring and analysing the current status of youth work practice;
(iii) determining the future status; and
(iv) specifying recommendations based on research findings to address the identified
challenges.

You have been selected to participate in this research. There are no known anticipated personal risks or benefits to be gained from participation, because this is simply an investigation and not a treatment study. There will be also no financial compensation for your participation in the study.
